Herein is a list of things we can all do (or not do) to be considerate of each other.

  • Never interrupt a scene.

  • If someone is preparing for a scene, involved in one, or providing aftercare, please do not approach to ask about their toys, if they will be done soon, if you can use the equipment when they are done etc. Let members enjoy their time together and not feel rushed or hurried.

  • Claim your equipment/space only once you are ready to play. Do not lay out your toys for play then leave the area for an extended period of time before returning. Be considerate of others who may want to use the space. Do not use other pieces of equipment for your toys, please use a table to lay out your toys. If you need help finding one, please ask one of the volunteers.

  • Don't touch or move anyone's toys or toy bags without their express permission.

  • Keep conversations in the lounge - not in the play rooms.

  • If you are watching a scene, sit or stand in an area that does not intrude.

  • The thermostats in each room DO NOT control the temperatures of that particular room. If you are uncomfortable, please see the the supervisor on duty.

  • Please do not turn off the fans, they are necessary for air circulation. If it is a problem, please let the supervisor on duty know and it will be adjusted accordingly.

  • If you require more or less light in the room in which you are playing, please be considerate of others. Lighting should be changed by the supervisor on duty.

  • Bring a tarp if you are going to use the waxing station. Clean up afterwards.

  • GD closes at 3:00 am. That means play should be wrapped up by 2:45 and everyone should be prepared to leave by closing time. If you need to call a cab, this should be done by 2:45 at the latest as it usually takes 10-20 minutes for the cab to arrive.

  • If you move equipment, please move it back when you are done.

Some Safety Items

  • Only plastic cups are permitted in the play rooms. All glass should be kept in the lounge.

  • Full suspension should be attempted only by experienced players and on weight bearing equipment. The winch in Serenity and the frame in Turmail are the only pieces that are designed for this type of activity.

  • Panic snaps should be used whenever possible.

  • If you see a scene that is unsafe, or has the potential to be unsafe, please make the supervisor on duty aware of the situation.

  • Do not come upstairs without using the buzzer and waiting to be let in. Don't just come in if the glass door below is open, you will not be able to get in because we will have no way of knowing who is knocking on the door.

  • Please let us know when you are leaving so that we can lock the door behind you.

REMEMBER:
Don't harm anyone on the outside.
